Soak Cleaning System - The complete kit for deep cleaning 

Have you ever done a deep cleaning of the group head?

Soak Cleaning System is the perfect solution for cleaning filter holders, showerheads, filters, and other metal components quickly and effortlessly. 

The kit includes a washing basin, 20x 3.5-gram sachets of pulyCAFF, 4x 25-mL bottles of PulyMILK, 1x brush, and 2x sachets of pulyGRIND (a very convenient bonus for trying out the coffee grinder cleaning products we will see in a moment). 

Simply dip the pieces in the bowl with hot water, add the specific cleaner and leave it to work. We recommend using very hot water for the stubborn dirt to melt away like snow in the sun. Once finished, be sure to rinse everything thoroughly with plenty of water. 

pulyCAFF Plus - A classic for group cleaning

Staying with the cleaning of the machine’s heart, the brew group, pulyCAFF Plus detergent is available in two convenient sizes: 370g and 900g. 

Instead of soaking the components in the basin as with the Soak Cleaning System, you can also use pulyCAFF Plus to make backflushes with the blind filter and clean everything in depth. 

Here are the steps to follow: 

• Pour about 5 grams of pulyCAFF PLUS into the blind filter
• Start the brew cycle for 10 seconds and stop it for 10 seconds, repeat 10 times 
• Unhook the filter holder and rinse the filter with water 
• To rinse the unit, insert the portafilter with the clean blind filter and start brewing for 10 seconds then stop it for 10 seconds, repeat 10 times

This will remove all coffee and oil residues that alter the taste and affect the performance of the machine. 

For an extra touch of shine in your coffee corner, soak your cups in a basin of very hot water with 3 to 5 grams of pulyCAFF Plus powder. This will remove any coffee and milk residue left over time that may stain the ceramic of the cups.

We then recommend completing with a regular dishwasher wash. 

pulyMILK Plus - No more milk residue

Cappuccino lovers know how easily milk residue can build up inside the steam wand and milk jugs. The pulyMILK Plus is specifically formulated to remove milk-derived fats, sugars and proteins, ensuring hygiene and perfect steam wand working. 

Use daily or after heavy use to avoid bad smelling and malfunction. 

How to clean the steam wand: 

• Immerse the steam wand in a basin with 500 ml of cold water and 25 ml of pulyMILK Plus  
• Open the steam wand for 1 second and close for 10 seconds. Repeat for 7-10 times 
• To rinse, immerse the steam wand in a basin with 1 liter of cold water, open the wand for 1 second and close. Repeat for 7-10 times

PulyGrind Hopper - For a Shining Hopper

Simply spray the product on a clean cloth, wipe it over the inside and outside surface of the hopper until it is clean. 

pulyGRIND Crystals - Cleaning the inside of the coffee grinder 

If coffee residues build up in the hopper, imagine what can accumulate inside the grinder itself!

Also part of the “green” line, pulyGRIND Crystals are plant-based, all-natural cleaning crystals designed to clean your grinder without disassembly. Their high absorbent power makes them ideal for removing coffee oils and grease effectively. pulyGRIND is available in both single-serving sachets and the 405-gram pot. 

Just pour the crystals into the coffee grinder as if they were coffee beans, start grinding, and you're done. Within minutes your coffee grinder will be as good as new. 

Let's look at the steps in detail: 

• After emptying the coffee grinder completely, remove the hopper and pour the contents of a sachet or 15 grams of product directly into the grinding chamber 
• Put the hopper back in place and insert 10 to 20 grams of coffee to be discarded 
• Start grinding until the hopper is completely empty 

Puly Cleaner - For the most critical situations 

In addition to regular cleaning, it is important to use the right water--which is never tap water, especially if you live in areas prone to high hardness. 

As we always say, more than 90 percent of espresso is water, and if not properly filtered, it will not have a good taste in the cup.   

In addition to this, a scale buildup can create an insulating layer that lowers the temperature, forcing the machine to work harder. 

To avoid situations where the machine no longer heats up or water no longer comes out, it is very important to use the right filtration products. You can find the whole line of BWT products on our site, from water hardness measurement kits to filter cartridges or even the filtering carafe. 

If, on the other hand, you've let cleaning slide a bit too long and haven’t consistently used water purification products, there’s a solution designed specifically for more critical situations. 

Only in cases of extreme emergency, we recommend using Puly Cleaner, an intensive shock descaler specifically formulated to clean the boiler, heat exchanger, and water tank. 

Here are all the steps to follow. Please note that this is a time-consuming process that can take several hours, and we do not recommend performing it unless absolutely necessary, only in extreme cases when the machine is no longer functioning properly: 

• After using the machine, turn it off and empty the water left in the boiler
• Dissolve one sachet of Puly Cleaner in one liter of water and pour it inside the tank 
• Turn on the machine, wait for it to reach the right temperature and pressure, and brew a couple of times to allow the water with the descaling agent to get into the system 
• Leave for about 30 minutes and then turn off the machine 
• Drain all the water containing the descaler. You may notice a blue or green tint in the water—this is completely normal and simply the result of Puly Cleaner reacting with the internal components of the machine 
• Now, to clean the machine's interior from the descaler, you need to repeat 4/5 times filling the tank with clean water and emptying the machine until the water comes out completely clear
